From the Governance Board

The Governance Board met on January 24, 2022 to review progress against our Year One Objectives in the Strategic Plan.
Career Connect Washington
The Board discussed recruiting for vacancies from industries in Clark, Klickitat and Skamania Counties and diversifying our executive leadership. While we are saddened at the retirement of long-time Network advocate, Ben Bagherpour, we are excited to introduce new Board members in Quarter 1 of 2022.

If you’d like more information, or have a potential board member to nominate, please read the board minutes or reach out to me directly at vickei.hrdina@esd112.org.

Zoom presentation from solar experts
Educators at iTech Prep continue to utilize industry connections to add authenticity and local relevance to their work with students. Recently, four representatives from the world of solar power met with Tom Wolverton’s students to support their exploration of solar cells and solar energy. Industry professionals from SEH-America, Sunbridge Solar, Enphase Energy, and Clark PUD joined Tom’s students for over an hour to share their work and answer questions. Tom said of the experience, “Not only did they gain valuable insight for their upcoming solar cell project, but they also gained insight on running and moderating a Zoom panel!”
Flipped Internships
Flipped Internships have been wildly successful in Clark County, reaching 6 school districts and hundreds of students through classroom-integrated problems guided by industry partners.
