From the Governance Board

Career Connect Washington has reinvested in Career Connect SW as the regional network for the 21-23 biennium! This financial support and statewide recognition means we will continue to build and expand Career Connected Learning across all of our partners, and invest in new opportunities.

We have also been provided with Enhanced Bonus Funding to directly support increasing participation in CCL programs from BIPOC, low-income and rural students.

Columbia River STEM Network

Hanna Burleson, Teacher at R.A. Long High School in Longview - CCSW Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Hanna Burleson, Teacher at R.A. Long High School in Longview for being selected as CCSW Teacher of the Year! Hanna’s work on a Civil Engineering Flipped Internship with Gibbs and Olson allowed dozens of students the chance to learn directly from professionals, solve an authentic problem and sharpen their 21st Century Skills!

Congratulations to Carrie Barnes, Gear Up Coordinator at Ocean Beach School District, this year's CCSW Advocate of the Year. Carrie has worked diligently to organize Industry Focus groups and connect teachers to Network programs to provide CCL opportunities. These opportunities have resulted in more than 500 student hours working with industry in Flipped Internships and other Career Related Learning Events.

Gorge Advisory Board

nPower Gorge Girls
nPower Gorge Girls supported scholarships and registration in several STEM Camps in partnership with Pacific Crest Innovation Academy and the Gorge Makerspace! Over 60 students were able to participate at in-person camps in June!

Congratulations to Jerry Lewis, Superintendent of White Salmon Valley School District on your retirement. Jerry has been a constant advocate of CTE, STEM and CCL and a dedicated member of our regional advisory and Governance Board. You will be missed, Jerry!

Clark Regional CCL Board

Ecological Land Services has been selected as the CCSW Industry Partner of the Year! ELS worked with three separate groups at Hockinson Elementary, Middle and High Schools on Flipped Internships on environmental science, habitat restoration and species survival. Thank you for your support of Career Exploration!
Clark College was visited by Governor Jay Inslee to endorse two more Career Launch programs, bringing the total offerings to 7 through the college! To find out more about Career Launch, visit Career Connect Washington.
