From the Governance Board

The Governance Board hosted our critical partner, Washington STEM’s Chief Program Officer Andy Shouse on April 19, 2022 to review our shared work in Early STEM, K12 STEM Education and Career Pathways.

One of these partnerships is the statewide STEM Rising Star program, which acknowledges young women pursuing STEM careers in each ESD. Read on for our three local nominees and stay tuned on social media for the announcement of our Southwest Washington STEM Rising Star who will share the statewide stage with 8 of their peers for the next year, with the support of Washington STEM.

Columbia River STEM Network

The Columbia River STEM Network has several paid summer internships available to students. Contact Christine to attend >

WSU Wahkiakum Extension is the newest grantee from Career Connect WA’s Program Builder funding. They will collaborate across Wahkiakum and Naselle Grays River Valley school districts with 4-H volunteers, industry partners, school staff and students to grow student access to high-demand careers in manufacturing and IT.

The Network has launched the Early Childhood Job Shadow portal for any student interested in exploring this career pathway. Students can register here to be matched with a local, licensed child care provider for a full-day experience!
